What’s the difference between a room booking and an event?

At The Createry, you can book a room for a fixed price regardless of the number of people you have. This means you can host workshops, invite clients, have podcast guests and more, without you or them needing to pay any extra.

So what’s the difference between booking a room and hosting an event at The Createry? Read on to find out!

Booking a room or studio

You can book the podcast/video studio, meeting room, and/or photography studio. People typically use these types of bookings for recording podcasts, brand or model shoots, holding small in-person or hybrid workshops, video calls and meetings, or similar.

If you’re a Fledgling or Songbird member, you can use the monthly free hours included in your plan toward your booking.

Standard equipment for that room is included; equipment from other rooms may be able to be moved subject to availability and advance notice, but there’s no guarantee. (For example, the TV screen and Meeting Owl can be moved to the photography studio for a presentation assuming that people booking the meeting room don’t need it).

You can host up to a maximum of 15 people in the photography studio, 6-8 in the meeting room, and 6 in the podcast studio.

You can choose to add on premium tea, coffee and biscuits per person for a small extra cost as part of your booking.

Holding an event

Events are perfect if you need more space or want the attention to detail and assistance to make the day special. Networking, larger business group meetups, presentations, screenings, and business-related celebratory events (such as a new launch, anniversary, or book signing) are all perfect candidates.

You can also choose to book the coworking floor, along with any or all of the following: the podcast/video studio, meeting room, photography studio.

You can host up to 40 people on the coworking floor, depending on the nature of your event.

Events include:

– An event “runner” (a Createry team member who is around to help with anything you may need and ensures everything goes to plan).

– A personalised welcome pegboard sign for your event in the entryway, which can also include your social media handles/website.

– The room already set up for you in your desired configuration (e.g. long table, small groups, open plan, seating positioned for projector/presenter etc.).

– Accessories and other decor in your chosen colour scheme.

– Priority for all equipment in The Createry (including, but not limited to, TV screen, projector, Meeting Owl, Windows or Mac laptops, flipchart/whiteboard, microphones, cameras and lighting).
Tech setup help, for example checking your setup for virtual participants, connecting up the projector, TV screen etc.

– Various different food and drink add-ons, ranging from breakfast pastries to pic ‘n’ mix for screenings, plus recycled cups, bamboo cutlery, and biodegradable paper plates and napkins as needed for your upgraded option.

– The option of including premium add-ons as arranged in advance (for example custom branded gifts for your guests, fresh flowers, personalised goody bags and similar).

– A stamp for your event loyalty card to unlock rewards.
Other things to note about events:

– Any Fledgling or Songbird member free hours can’t be used toward events.

– Events require more notice as we may need to relocate coworkers to other spaces in the building, and we need the notice to prep.

– Your event date needs to be reserved and confirmed as far in advance as possible, and the deposit needs to be paid at least 72 hours before your event.
